Throwback Thursday: Fortunately, The Milk

I know it’s Friday today, but bear with me. I’m hoping to make this a post series where I pick a favorite I read years ago and bring it back up again.

I love reading the latest and greatest, but sometimes those things are not available yet at my library. Or the waitlist is forever. Or purchasing a new copy is not in the budget this month (someday my budget will be 99% new books, but today is not that day). So it’s always good to have some classic standouts to return to and enjoy.

And this one, Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman, is a standout.

Neil Gaiman is famous for his fantasy like Stardust, Coraline, Good Omens, and others that have made the leap into popular culture. This has the same fantastic storyline, but even more zany and hilarious. I read it and loved it while in college, and I recommended it to everyone.

Now that I have children, it is in the rotation of road trip audiobooks (it clocks in at an easy 1 hour). The illustrations in the physical copy are also fabulous, and this one is going to stay on our shelf for a long time.
